Lata Rex Waterfall, Laloh, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, Malaysia.

Lata Rex located at Laloh, Kuala Krai, Kelantan is a cascade type waterfall. It's the downstream of the Lata Beringin waterfall which located about 20km away. It's beautiful waterfall with water run through the multiple-cascading rock.  The water level is in shallow depth overall  ( some places is deeper- please stay close to your small kids all the time). There is a mini hydroelectric beside the waterfall, the power harvested can power up a small village of about 300 peoples near to it, a clean yet efficient energy source without damage the environment.

Mushrooms of the Jungle while hiking

Took a series of mushrooms pictures and wildlife while hiking in the jungle adjacent to Taman Negara, full of biodiversity, hike along the river and lead us to a small but beautiful waterfall. enjoy the photos and sorry for the low quality photos, using phone to shoot .

Gunung stong Forest Park ( Jelawang waterfall), Dabong, Kelantan, Malaysia.

Introduction:
The Gunung Stong State Forest Park (GSSFP) located at Dabong, Kelantan, covers some 157,087 ha of forest; is one of the top 5 ecotourism destinations in Malaysia covering some oldest rain forest in the world. It's popular for visitor from Malaysia and Singapore with an estimated 10,000 visitor per annum. It's famous for the purportedly highest waterfall in South east asia,  jelawang waterfall ( 309m), it's so high that you can saw it from far away. Gunung stong ( 1,422 m) is about 4-5 hours from Baha Camp ( 1-2 hours hike to Baha Camp site) and another 3-4 hours return trip. Baha Camp is where you will spend most of the time there, swim in the natural rock pool, watching sunrise from the waterfall and the magnificent panoramic view of Dabong. Besides the view the forest reserve also rich in fauna and flora that some native plant only grow here.

Tips:
book a guide in advance to make sure you won't lost in the jungle
hiking attire and equipment 
enough foods and water.

There is numerous trails within GSSFP include Gunung Ayam, Gunung Stong, Gunung Tera,Gunung Che Tahir, Sungai Semuliang, Seven Summits, Lasr waterfall and Gua Ikan cave. ( Gunung is mountain in Malay) 


Animals:
elephant, tiger, Malayan tapir,Malayan sun bear, siamang, leapard cat ( prionailurus bengalensis), black panther, serow, pig-tailed macaque, barking deer, banded linsang and banded leaf-monkey.

Plants:
Holtummochloa pubescebs ( small bamboo), Licuala stongensis ( fan palm), orchids, wild gingers, rafflesia ( world's largest flower) , etc.

Zion National Park, Utah, United States.





Introduction:

Zion National Park is located in the Springdale, Utah, United States. It covered a total of 590 km2, which is 24 km long and up to 800 m deep. Located at parts of  Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert regions, the park's unique geography allow for unusual plant and animal diversity. The unique life zones includes desert, riparian, woodland, and coniferous forest consists of canyons, buttes, mountains, mesad,rivers, monoliths,slot canyon and natural arches.  It take about 3 hours drive from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The magnificent view of Zion National Park Valley from a cave with melting snow waterfall fall on the right.The weather is still cold in the spring ( April ) but not cold enough to prevent the snow from melting. In spring there are many waterfalls around the park because of warm weather melting the snow.

Lata Beringin (Beringin Waterfall)


Introduction:
Lata Beringin is a 120 meters waterfall located at Sungai Pas, Kuala Krai. Magnificent  view of the waterfall with lush green surrounding suitable for picnic and camping.   The location is quite remote and not easy to find . The first time went there we get lose and  only found the way after asking the villager there, the small road located near the bridge turn left  ( from Kuala Krai area) and go along the road until the end ( it's a tiny road which is one lane tarred road)

FOC - there is no one to collect any entrance fees ( because the facilities there are all broken- toilet is filled with fallen leaves and trees branches and with graffiti vandalism)
